“Cat City 2” is a prequel to the first part of this film, with the same title. In the film “Cat City”, we saw that a large number of cats, following their dreams, migrate to the City of Cats, unaware that the Deputy King of Cats has set a trap for them. In “Cat City 2”, we see the Deputy’s reason for doing this and what he does to make the cats willing to migrate from the Cat Country to the City of Cats. This film, in simple language and far from complexity, deals with the issue of migration. The similarity of the King of Cats to the President of the United States and his empty promises help teenagers to receive the message of the work more easily.
In the second part of City of Cats, Javad Hashemi has taken his story to a new direction and introduced strong political elements that seem unknown to the young audience. That is why he is not involved in the film’s plot and is unable to understand its message. On the contrary, it seems that the filmmaker’s goal was the teenage audience, who have a better understanding of the film and its message.
