Ali Taherfar, by leveraging situational humor, diverse characterizations, and a simple storyline, aims to create enjoyable and entertaining moments for the audience. Although in some instances, this effort faces challenges, and the series does not always pass the test flawlessly.

The presence of experienced actors such as Mohammadreza Hedayati, Shohreh Soltani, Soroush Jamshidi, Roya Miralami, and Mohammad Naderi carries a significant portion of the series’ comedic weight. Additionally, the director’s skill in creating the atmosphere and recreating the feel of the 1980s is one of the strengths of the work, playing an important role in evoking nostalgia for the audience.

However, the series faces certain weaknesses in the script. Repetitive jokes, stretched-out narratives, and dialogues that occasionally feel preachy or artificial are among the challenges that reduce the audience’s emotional connection to the work. In some scenes, the slow pace of the story is more related to the execution than the structure of the script itself.

In this context, editing plays a crucial role in maintaining cohesion and the appeal of the series. It can be said that what has saved Ghol-e Marduneh from falling into the trap of monotony is its intelligent and professional editing. Precise cuts, well-calculated pacing, and the proper use of angles and timing ensure that even in moments when the script lacks sufficient momentum, the narrative remains smooth and engaging.

Manouchehr Sanei, the editor of the series, with his successful experience on Tankkhorha, has once again played a key role in the success of the narrative structure by correctly understanding the tone of comedy and utilizing technical editing tools. In Ghol-e Marduneh, editing not only harmonizes with the series’ comedic atmosphere but also helps establish the proper rhythm and enhances the humor. Had this aspect been handled with less precision and quality, the series would likely have fallen into monotony and sluggishness.

Although Ghol-e Marduneh faces certain shortcomings in its script and narrative jokes, the directing and editing have played a significant role in maintaining the rhythm and comedic atmosphere, keeping the series watchable for the audience.

Ultimately, despite the critiques, Ghol-e Marduneh has managed to capture the attention of a considerable portion of viewers and secure its place among the top-rated television shows. Once again, experienced producer Iraj Mohammadi has added another audience-friendly work to his portfolio. With its blend of nostalgic atmosphere, commendable performances, and intelligent editing, the series has earned a passing grade and has become one of the successful works on television today.
